Cops: Unlicensed Man Busted for DWI in Flanders

The man was stopped for failure to maintain his lane, police said.

An unlicensed Flanders man was cuffed on Thanksgiving Eve for driving drunk, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, Jose C. Nunez, 26, was arrested at 7:59 p.m. on Flanders Road on Wednesday after authorities said he was observed heading westbound and failing to maintain his lane.

Upon investigation, police said that he was intoxicated. Nunez was arrested and transported to the Southampton Town Police Headquarters for arrest processing and held for morning arraignment, police said.

Nunez was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, as well as driving in the center lane, tinted windows less than 70 percent, unlicensed operation, failure to maintain lane, moving from lane unsafely, a cracked windshield, and driver's view obstructed by objects, all violations.
