Cops: Woman Stole Pair of Nike's, Fled in Van

Editor's Note: The following information was supplied by the Riverhead Town Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate convictions.

A 37-year-old Babylon man was arrested on March 5 on charges of second-degree harassment and criminal possession of a hypodermic needle.

According to police reports, a woman reported that she was shoved by the man - who is her son - at her home in Calverton, and that she wanted him arrested for it. The woman reportedly told the man to leave her house, and that after being told to leave the man slept in her garage.

Police arrested the man on a citizen's arrest, and during processing reported that three hypodermic needles were found in his backpack. Police said that during the arrest process, the man's behavior continued to appear as though he was under the influence of drugs.
