Couple Arrested After Allegedly Stealing Vacuum With Box Cutter

Both charged with felony robbery.

On Friday, a man and woman who threatened Home Depot security with a box cutter were arrested on felony robbery charges following a State Police pursuit after stealing a vacuum cleaner.

State police reported that Alexis Fields, 35, of Flanders, and Michael Hall, 45, of Riverhead, fled Home Depot on Route 58 after they were confronted. Reports state they were soon spotted driving a red Dodge Caravan down Route 105 in Riverhead. 

After state police reportedly performed a traffic stop to prevent the couple from fleeing into a residence, the two were arrested.

Fields was arrested on charges of robbery in the first degree (class B felony) and petit larceny. Hall was arrested on charges of robbery in the first degree, petit larceny, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree (a class D felony), menacing in the second degree, petit larceny, and unlawful possession of marijuana.
