Crimes Nearby: $40,000 Ring Stolen, Southampton Woman Says

The following information was supplied by East End police departments. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate a conviction.

Recent arrests and reported crimes from elsewhere on the East End:

EAST HAMPTON

Jorge E. Guanga, 36, of Montauk, was arrested on Feb. 3 after said he kicking in a door at his estranged wife's house. Police received a call from the victim at about 7:15 p.m. When officers arrived they found damage to the door and Guanga inside the house. He was arrested on a charge of second-degree criminal trespass and fourth-degree criminal mischief, both misdemeanors. Held overnight, he was arraigned before East Hampton Town Justice Lisa R. Rana and released on $5,000 bail on Feb. 4. The victim also requested an order of protection.

An 18-year-old girl and 19-year-old girl were arrested in East Hampton Village on Feb. 2 on theft charges. said they stole merchandise from, where the older girl, Dahiana C. Munoz, works, and, which are both on Main Street. When police found them they had five bottles of nail polish, a pair of fake eyelashes, white socks, a Ricky's NYC pink and white flowering ring, a pair of silver earrings and a box of skin perfecting primer cream for a total of $132.94. They were both charged with misdemeanors; two counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and one count of petty larceny. They were released on their own recognizance and will be arraigned in on Feb. 16. Police withheld the younger girl's name because she is eligible for youthful offender status in court.

NORTH FORK

Marcais Smith, 19, of Greenport, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon and menacing on Feb. 5 at 1 a.m. after Daniel Bridge, 28, of Greenport, reported to police that he was assaulted by three unknown men on Manor Place in Greenport, police said.

Bridge said that he was struck with a baton several times and that the suspects tried to steal his money, police said. Police located Smith nearby and found him to be involved in the incident and in possession of a metal baton.

Later investigation revealed that Bridge knew the identities of at least one of the suspects who allegedly attacked him, and that the incident was the result of a drug-related transaction, police said. Bridge was later arrested and charged with falsely reporting an incident, giving a false sworn statement to police and loitering for use / possession of a controlled substance, police said.

Colin Volinski, 22, of Southold, was charged with driving while intoxicated, speeding and driving with an obstructed view on Feb. 4 at 9:44 p.m., after police stopped him for the speeding violation on Wickham Avenue in Mattituck, police said. Volinski was found to be intoxicated, arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was held pending arraignment, police said.

Anthony Secaida, 19, of Cutchogue, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and driving with a suspended license on Feb. 3 at 7:11 p.m. after police stopped him for a traffic violation at the intersection of Route 48 and Ackerly Pond Lane in Southold, police said. A computer check revealed that Secaida’s license was suspended, and investigation revealed that he was in possession of five zip lock bags of marijuana, police said. Secaida was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was released on bail.

SOUTHAMPTON

Brendan H. Clavin, 23, of Sag Harbor, was arrested Jan. 31 at 2:57 a.m. and charged with felony aggravated DWI. The charge was elevated to a felony as a result of a previous DWI conviction. said Clavin was pulled over on Rysam Street in a 1999 Toyota Corolla after he failed to stay in his lane while speeding on Division Street.

Police said Clavin smelled strongly of an alcoholic beverage and he performed poorly on sobriety tests. According to an Intoximeter, his blood alcohol content was .23 percent, police said, nearly three times the legal limit. Police said a baggy of marijuana was in his front pants pocket and another baggy was found in his waistband.

Clavin was additionally charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, as well as speeding and improper lane use, both traffic infractions.

A North Sea woman thought her diamond ring on a platinum setting was safe in her closet for months, but when she checked on it recently she discovered it missing, according to police.

 said the woman reported Thursday that the ring was stolen, though she initially thought it may have been misplaced when she went looking for it three days earlier. She said she last saw the ring, which she stored in a box on a shelf in her bedroom closet, around Nov. 15.

and has a 6-karat diamond in the center and small diamond clusters on the side. The woman told police she does not wear the ring often because it is “a bit ostentatious,” according to the incident report. Police said a photo was not available, and there were no indications of forced entry or unauthorized access to the home.

WESTHAMPTON-HAMPTON BAYS

Vincent A. Riela, 48, of Hampton Bays, was arrested Feb. 4 at 1:07 a.m. at 250 Montauk Highway East in Hampton Bays and charged with burglary in the third degree, a felony. Police said the arrest stemmed from an investigation into the theft of a cash register in October 2011.

John G. Randolph, 25, of Hampton Bays, was arrested Feb. 1 at 5:28 p.m. on Montauk Highway West in Hampton Bays and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, as well as following too closely, a traffic infraction. Police said Randolph was involved in a reportable motor vehicle accident and he told the arresting officer he drank too much.
