The following information was supplied by police departments on the East End. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate guilt.
The Quogue Police say they have charged an East Quogue man with a burglary that occurred on Sept. 17 at 10:30 a.m. at a commercial business in Quogue. According to police, Richard Curry, 36, was charged with burglary, a felony; criminal trespassing, forgery and four counts of petit larceny after an investigation that involved the review of security cameras. Police say Curry was a former employee of the business and gained entry while the business was open. Surveillance shows that he snuck around taking a blank check, a set of keys a gas can and gas.Police say Curry later cashed the black check on the amount of $621 at a Riverhead check cashing business. Additional charges related to the cashing of the check will be forthcoming, police said.
NORTH FORK
• According to state and court records, a Rocky Point man – who police said on Tuesday was arrested for in concert with two other individuals – has been convicted of burglary in the past, and currently stands charged with seven burglary charges across Suffolk County.
Southold Police said on Tuesday that warrants were issued William P. Smith, who reportedly stole over 400 pounds of copper in August from an unnamed Mattituck business.
• Tyler L. Schiffelbian, 28, of Remsenburg, was charged with petit larceny on Sept. 19 at 10:09 a.m. after a Greenport man caught him taking copper from his business without permission, police said. Schieffelbian had been fired from the business earlier that morning, police said.
SOUTHAMPTON
• Anthony Borgese, 21, of Sag Harbor, was arrested Sept. 23 at 6 p.m in Noyac. Borgese was charged with second-degree assault, a class C felony, after Southampton Town police said he stabbed a woman with a pair of scissors and attempted to strangle her in Noyac. The incident sent the victim to Southampton Hospital for treatment of her injuries. Borgese was arraigned in Southampton Town Justice Court on Sept. 24.
• A North Haven woman told Southampton Town police Sept. 19 that someone has been withdrawing money from her bank account using her debit card and pin number. She said a total of $16,823 has been removed from her account, dating back to a withdrawal in February.
• An East Patchogue man was arrested Sept. 9 after punching and breaking a car window during a road rage incident, while children were in the vehicle, according to police. Southampton Village police said 46-year-old John K. Ward was charged with assault in the third degree, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal mischief in the fourth degree, all misdemeanors. Before 2 p.m., Ward and a driver were fighting on North Sea Road when Ward broke the driver's window, police said. The driver's wife and two young children were inside the vehicle as well, according to police. During the fight, the driver was cut and bruised and was later taken to Southampton Hospital for treatment.
• James M. Aigotti, 22, of East Quogue, was arrested Sept. 7 at 12:03 p.m. after a traffic stop, Southampton Village police said. He was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument, both misdemeanors, after heroin and hypodermic needles were found inside the vehicle, police said. He was processed, arraigned and transferred to the Suffolk County jail after failing to post $750 bail, according to police.
• Orlando J. Roberts, 31, of Montauk, was held on $15,000 cash or $60,000 bond after he resisted arrest on Sept. 11, according to police.
Officer Joseph R. Montiel pulled him over for talking on his cellphone without a hands-free device at about 4:30 p.m. He parked his car in front of the Tiny Underwoods Apartments on West Lake Drive and attempted to get out of the vehicle, though the officer instructed him to stay inside of it. A DMV check revealed his registration was suspended for an insurance lapse on Aug. 27, and police told Roberts, who was now standing in front of his car, that he was going to be arrested.

• Two brothers were arrested on Sept. 11, a day after a woman claimed they came to her house in Springs looking for her son, pushed her, and menaced her. Christopher J. Piacentine, 21, and Thomas R. Piacentine, 23, both of East Hampton, were identified from photos. Christopher Piacentine was charged with menacing in the second-degree and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both misdemeanors. Thomas Piacentine was charged with second-degree criminal trespass, a misdemeanor, and second-degree harassment, a violation. Justice Cahill released both defendants on $250 bail.
• Christopher J. Gettling, 37, of Southampton, was arrested on a felony charge of criminal contempt in Springs on Sunday at about 3:50 a.m. Police were called to the scene of an argument that resulted in a slight physical altercation and spilled out into the street. According to police, he is being held on $1,000 cash or $3,000 bond at the Suffolk County jail in Riverside.s
