Driver Charged With DWAI in Riverside Rollover

A Bridgehampton man was arrested after police say his car rolled over near traffic circle in Riverside.

Southampton Town Police report that on Saturday at approximately 1:59 a.m., multiple calls were received regarding a vehicle overturned near the traffic circle on Flanders Road in Riverside.

Police say that Bridgehampton resident Brian Jenkins, 45, was allegedly driving a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe westbound on Flanders Road when he crossed the center line, went off the left side of the roadway, hit the curb, and rolled over.

Jenkins was arrested and charged with driving while impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor. Police say he also had an outstanding warrant related to a previous charge of criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree.

He was arrested and transported to Southampton Town police headquarters, where he was held for morning arraignment.
