Flanders Man Arrested for Breaking Car Windows

The 29-year-old was arrested after a witness allegedly saw him damage two vehicles on Riverside Avenue.

A Flanders man was arrested on Sunday morning after he broke the windows of two cars on Riverside Avenue in Flanders the night before, Southampton Town police said.

Edwin Espana, 29, of Flanders, was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal mischief in the third and fourth-degrees, according to a police report.

Police said they responded to a call on Riverside Avenue Sunday morning about damage to two vehicles parked in a man's driveway. A tenant identified Espana as the suspect after allegedly witnessing the crime, police said.

Espana was arrested later that morning at his Flanders home. He was taken to police headquarters and held overnight for arraignment Monday morning.
