Cops: Flanders Man Charged With Punching, Choking Victim

The man was charged with violating an order of protection, police said.

A 27-year-old Flanders man was arrested in Flanders on Nov. 5 after he allegedly violated an order of protection and got into a physical confrontation with an alleged victim, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, the man had been ordered to stay away from the victims on Sep. 10, but confronted them again on Nov. 4 at around 10 p.m. Police said the defendant pushed and punched his victim, knocking over a lamp in the living room at a Royal Avenue location. He was later arrested and charged with second-degree criminal contempt and fourth-degree criminal mischief, both misdemeanors.
