Former Riverhead Ambulance District President Injured in Crash

Ronald Rowe and his daughter were both hurt in an accident on Friday.

Ronald Rowe, former president of the Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps, was injured in car accident on Route 25 in Calverton on Friday.

According to Riverhead Town police, at 5:08 p.m. on Friday, Mastic resident Edward Eastman, who was drving a box struck, was stopped in the roadway making a left turn when he was allegedly rear ended by Rowe, a Riverhead resident, on Route 25 in Calverton.

Rowe was airlifted by Suffolk County Police Department Aviation unit to Stony Brook University Medical Center; his 22-year-old daughter, who was in the car, was brought by ambulance to Stony Brook.

Eastman was not injured, police said.

Rowe is past president of the Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance board of directors and a current member of the board.
