Incident Report: $2,800 in Wrist Watches Stolen from Tanger Store

Crimes and suspicious incidents reported by Riverhead and Southampton Police:

Burglary

On Jan. 30, it was reported that someone broke the front glass door at the Pizza Pie in Wading River and stole $100.

A Doctors Path resident reported on Jan. 30 that someone stole $680 in jewelry from her home.

Village Beverage in Wading River reported on Feb. 5 that someone broke the glass door on the north side of the building and removed $200 from the store.

Sometime between Dec. 27 and Jan. 30 someone broke into a Point Road home in Flanders and stole copper water lines, according to an incident report. Southampton police said the cousin of the homeowner said he found on Jan. 30 that the front door glass was broken.

Larceny

A Famous Footwear employee reported on Jan. 29 that an unknown black male stole over $500 in shoes. The man was reportedly wearing a black ball cap, a black leather jacket, and dark jeans. He allegedly took $370 in Nike's, $75 in Sketchers and $60 in Perry Ellis shoes.

An employee of Zumiez reported that two black males grabbed seven Nixon wrist watches, valued at $2,800, from a display case and fled in an unknown silver vehicle on Feb. 4.

Assault

A Flanders man reported on Feb. 3 from a hospital bed that he has a gap in memory between his acquaintance dropping him off at his sister’s house, and being in pain and bleeding with his cellphone missing. The man told police that his acquaintance, who he is on good terms with, had picked him up, then picked up a second man he never met before. When the victim’s sister came home, she took him to the hospital, police said.
