A golf cart reported stolen from East Wind Caterers over a year and a half ago was found in Florida last week.

Florida State Police informed Riverhead Police last week that a golf cart, reported stolen from East Wind Caterers in July of 2010, was recovered in Alachua County, Fla.

According to police reports, a Yamaha golf cart valued at $3,000 was reported stolen from East Wind's maintenance shed on July 16, 2010. The golf cart was described as a white, two-person cart that ran on gas. A search of the area came up with no results and town detectives were notified.

Fast forward 19 months to March 3, 2012, and a Florida highway patrol officer reported recovering the same golf cart reported missing over a year and a half ago. Town detectives are investigating the incident.
