Incident Report: Windshield Damaged, BB Gun Suspected
Also this week, a Southampton Head Start employee reported having her wallet stolen.
Crimes and suspicious incidents recently reported to the Southampton Town Police Department:
• An attendant at the Valero gas station near the Riverside traffic circle reported that on May 11 around 7:30 a.m., a man stole a pack of Newport cigarettes. The incident is being investigated as a petty larceny
• A Flanders woman reported on May 11 that between Sunday and Friday of the previous week, someone shot at her front car windshield with what appeared to be a bb gun. She said she had previously seen a neighbor outside playing with one. Police questioned the neighbor, who denied involvement. The incident is being investigated as criminal mischief in the fourth degree.
• An employee of Southampton Head Start in Riverside reported on May 7 that the previous Friday, she had her wallet stolen after placing it down in a common area. According to police reports, her employer refused to offer a list of employees to police, citing corporate policy, and up to 100 parents could have had access to the area where the wallet was left. The wallet contained $200 cash, according to reports, as well as credit cards.
