Incident Reports: College Students Say They Were Harassed

Also this week, a Flanders man said someone stole $11,400 from his Chase Bank account.

Crimes and suspicious incidents recently reported to the Southampton Town Police Department: 

Identity Theft

A Flanders man reported to police on March 2 that someone stole $11,400 from his Chase Bank account in three separate transactions.  According to a police report, Chase has refunded the resident $2,500 and is working to retrieve the rest.

Petit Larceny

A Riverside resident reported to police that on March 2 she left her wallet in a Moonlight Taxi. The report states that the taxi driver returned her wallet, however $60 was missing from it. The driver told police, several other customers were in the taxi before he noticed the wallet in the backseat.

The owner of Riverside Recycling, Inc told police on Feb 26 that someone stole a license plate off one of his cars that was parked outside his business on Old Quogue Road.

A Riverside resident reported to police on March 1 that someone stole the license plate off his car, which was parked at the Bridgehampton Train Station from Feb. 17 to March 1.

Harassment

A student of Suffolk Community College in Riverhead reported to police on Feb. 23 that while standing in front of the school café’, three black men approached him and his friends and told them that they are going to kill them. Police are investigating.
