Riverside Woman Reports Being Struck By Beer Bottle

Also reported to Southampton Town police, stolen GPS devices, stereo equipment -- and beer.

Crimes and suspicious incidents recently reported to the Southampton Town Police Department:

Assault

• On Nov. 17, a Riverside woman reported that someone threw a beer bottle at her on Peconic Avenue, causing a laceration to her eye. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.

Petty Larceny

In Flanders Nov. 12, a woman reported that her locked car that was parked on Priscilla Avenue was broken into and a stereo and speakers worth $800 were stolen. Police said entry was made by prying open the driver’s side door.

• A Flanders woman told police Nov. 15 that a DVD player and GPS device worth $340 were taken from her vehicle that was parked on Meadowbrook Lane.

• In Riverside Nov. 16, a woman told police that a Tom-Tom GPS device, $300 in cash and a radio were stolen from her vehicle that was parked on Flanders Road.

• At the Shell gas station on Lake Avenue in Riverside, a man was accused Nov. 13 of stealing a 12-pack of Natural Ice beer. No arrests related to the incident were reported.

Leaving the Scene of an Accident

• A Hampton Bays man reported that his car was sideswiped by another car in Flanders Road near Oak Avenue. According to police, the other driver left the scene without exchanging information.

Criminal Trespass

• On Nov. 12, a man who lives on Kirk Avenue in Riverside told police that a trespasser was seen on his property taking a chainsaw out of a shed. No arrests related to the incident have yet been made.
