Incident Reports: Business Owner Scammed Out of $4,000

Crimes reported to Southampton police through July 8.

Crimes and suspicious incidents recently reported to the Southampton Town Police Department:

Grand Larceny

• A Flanders business owner called police on July 2 to report that he was scammed out of $4,655 after he got a call from a person stating that he was from Moneygram and that the business owed money.

• The Riverhead Shell station reported to police on July 6 that a woman walked into the store and stole four Loko cans, valued at $3.59 each and a Margarita can, valued also at $3.59.

• A Flanders resident told police on July 6 that someone stole a car charger out of his car which was parked in a driveway.
