Cops: Man Allegedly Asked For Ride, Pulled Knife on Driver in Riverside

• A man told police that he gave another man a ride to McDonald's in Riverside on Flanders Road on Sunday morning for $5, and in turn the man refused to pay him, pulled a knife and threatened to kill him if he went to the cops. The driver said he drove the man from "El Carasol" in Riverhead and when they arrived at McDonald's, the passenger pulled out a pocket knife. When the driver told him to get out and that he as calling the police, the passenger said he would kill him. But, he left the vehicle and and the knife behind. The driver called police at 2:25 a.m.  

• A resident of Quogue Avenue in Flanders reported $950 in stereo equipment stolen from his 2000 Mercedes Benz. He said woofer speakers, a 500 watt amp, and an iPod Touch were all stolen from his unlocked car in his driveway.

• Two bicycles were taken from a backyard on Flanders Road in Riverside this week. A silver and blue mountain bike without brakes and second bike were found missing on. The homeowner said there is on-going problem with people stealing from the backyard.
