Carnelle Walker, who pleaded guilty on Feb. 8, was instrumental in the drug ring before his arrest, according to police, who also said he was the leader of Nine Trey faction of the Bloods in Flanders, and along with co-conspirator John Gayles, cooked over $20,000 worth of crack out of his Flanders home on a weekly basis.

In addition to conspiracy, he pleaded guilty to criminal sale of a controlled substance in the second degree, constituting over a half-ounce of narcotics.

According to District Attorney Spokesman Bob Clifford, "conspiracy connotes planning and playing an instrumental role in arranging the delivery of narcotics."

The D.A. is pushing for eight years of determinate sentence for Walker, followed by five years post-release supervision.

Gayles pleaded guilty to five charges, including conspiracy in the second degree and conspiracy in the fourth degree last November. While District Attorney Thomas Spota had pushed for six to nine years for Gayles, the man police said was running the Doctors Path Flame — a Blood faction based in Riverhead — received four and a half to nine years.

Walker and Gayles, according to police, led the drug ring with Mack Butler and James White.

White posted bond in September of 2011 is still running through pre-trial hearings, determining what evidence may be used in a potential trail. He remains charged with conspiracy in the first degree, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the first and third degrees.

Butler stands charged with nine felony counts and is also going through pre-trial conferences. The top charge against Butler is conspiracy in the second degree. Police said Butler counterfeited cash from his home in Patchogue and sent it to the Flanders area, where they said Walker operated.
