A man charged with having sex with a teenaged boy he met on the internet is slated to be arraigned on a grand jury indictment today in Suffolk County criminal court in Riverhead.
Police arrested David Boutin, 42, of West Hempstead, on August 17 when, during a search for a stolen motorbike, they allegedly found Boutin with a 13-year-old boy in the backseat of the defendant's car, which was parked on a remote utility access road in the Wading River/Shoreham area, on Long Island Power Authority property, located north of Route 25A in Shoreham.
Boutin was arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree criminal sexual act.
Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota said that Boutin allegedly began communicating with the teen through CraigsList in April.
Boutin is expected to appear before Judge Barbara Kahn; the calendar is called for 9:30 a.m.
