Man Dies In Fatal Aquebogue Crash

Police said the victim lost control and struck a tree.

A Cutchogue man lost his life in a fatal accident on Sound Avenue in Aquebogue Saturday.

According to Riverhead police, Rigoberto Boror, 35, of Cutchogue, was traveling westbound in a blue Dodge pickup truck on Sound Avenue, to the west of West Lane in Aquebogue on Saturday morning at 6:55 a.m.

Police were dispatched to the scene of the one-car accident and determined that Boror had been heading west when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a large tree on the northside of the westbound lane.

Boror, police said, sustained severe injuries and was trapped inside the vehicle.

The Riverhead Fire Department, Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and a Suffolk County medivac helicopter responded to the scene and extricated the driver from the truck.

He was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center by the Riverhead Town Volunteer Ambulance Corps, where he was pronounced dead.
