A woman was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated in Riverhead early Sunday morning.
According to Riverhead Town police, Shakir Orr, 24, of Mattituck, was arrested on East Main Street and McDermott Avenue at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Sunday and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor.
Police said Orr was stopped because her vehicle, a gray 2000 Volkswagon station wagon, fit the description of a vehicle involved in Southampton Town investigation. After police stopped the car, officers said they came to the conclusion that there was alcohol involvement regardng the driver, and Orr was arrested, police said.
She was arraigned early Sunday morning.
