Less than an hour before Kalila Taylor was slated to be of Curtisha Morning, who was killed in 1996, her mother, Viola Morning, spoke out from her home in North Carolina on Thursday.
"I hope she gets what she deserves," Morning said. "My daughter can never come back. I can't ever touch her again. I can never see my baby again."
"Justice has been served," Patrina Morning, Curtisha Morning's sister, said, outside the courtroom. Morning and her aunt Monica Roberson attended the sentencing. Her sister remembered Curtisha Morning who embrace her education, at Riverhead High School; the 17 year old was murdered nearby.
