Police: $10,000 in Equipment Stolen from Radio Station

Grand Larceny
The owner of Livingstone Broadcasting in Riverside, which broadcasts WLIR 107.1, told Southampton Town Police on Tuesday, June 21 that sometime between that date and Sunday, June 19 someone stole two transmitters worth a total of $10,000 from the station, located on County Road 51. A lock and chain on a fence leading into the property were arranged differently from when the owner left a few days before. The lock to the storage shed was also damaged, the owner told police. Police are investigating.
The owner of Hampton Fence in Flanders told Southampton Town Police on Tuesday, June 21 that in late May and early June a former employee wrote four checks for a total of $11,395.23 to himself and his mother without his permission. The employee was fired June 6, according to a report. Police are investigating.

DWI
Victoria Martell, 36, of Riverhead was arrested by Southampton Town Police June 23 at 1:30 a.m. on Peconic Avenue in Riverside and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Martell was stopped for driving out of lane.
