Riverhead Town police and fire department first responders were on the scene at Riverhead High School on Wednesday at approximately 4:00 p.m. to investigate a fire alarm in the boys' locker room.
According to police, it was discovered upon arrival that a locker had been set on fire, causing minor damage to the locker and its contents. Police also said the building was evacuated after the alarm sounded.
The Suffolk County Police Department arson squad responded to assist in the investigation, which is ongoing.
