Police: Driver Struck Home on Roanoke Avenue Next to K-9 Cop
Tuesday night Roanoke Avenue crash occurresd immediately next to K-9 cop's home, though dog wasn't home.
A driver who struck a Roanoke Avenue home and allegedly fled the scene of the accident on Tuesday night — and was later found in a farm field nearby — may have hit the wrong home to run from.
According to , Michael Murray was driving northbound on Roanoke Avenue Tuesday night when he swerved, struck a tree, and rammed into a residence at 2091 Roanoke Ave. Police said the son of the owner of the home, who lives next door, is an off-duty police officer in charge of one of the force's police dogs.
However, the dog belonging to the police officer — John Doscinski — didn't happen to be home at the time, but rather at the veterinarian's office.

Police said that following the accident, which occurred at Doscinski's father's home next door, Murray "fled northbound on foot."
Det. Tim Hubbard said that Murray suffered a leg injury in the accident, and later turned himself into police. Police, Hubbard said, then took an ATV out into the field, transported Murray to , and later arrested him and gave him a desk appearance ticket.

He is due back in court on Dec. 7 on charges of fleeing the scene of an accident.
