K-9 Hunts Down Alleged Stun Gun Attacker

A Nassau County man was arrested on robbery and weapons charges early Saturday morning after he reportedly attempted to rob a gas station attendant with a stun gun.

A Roslyn Heights man was arrested early Saturday morning after Riverhead Police said he shocked a Jamesport Valero gas station attendant with a stun gun in an attempt to rob him of money.

Police received a call around 1:20 a.m. Saturday from the gas station attendant saying that an unknown black male, later found to be Devine Poole, 20, had approached him and demanded money. When the man refused, he reported that Poole stunned him several times while reaching into his pockets.

The suspect left with no money, fleeing on foot. Riverhead Police responded with a K-9 unit, and reported that they found Poole - who reportedly had a stun gun on him - coming out of a wooded area on the corner of White Birch Court and South Jamesport Avenue. The gas station attendant identified Poole as the man who attempted to rob him, and stunned him.
