Police Hunting For Thief Who Bagged Over 600 Pumpkins

The missing pumpkins are valued at $4200, police said.

Pumpkin picking took on a new meaning in Riverhead lately.

According to Riverhead Town police, a search is ongoing for a sticky-fingered culprit who made off with over 600 pumpkins from Hollow Farms on Sound Avenue.

Police said the pumpkins, which went missing from the patch sometime between Sept. 27 and Sept. 30., were valued at approximately $4200.

Anyone with information on the missing gourds is asked to call Riverhead Town polcie at 631-727-4500 ext. 318.
