Police: Man Stabbed, Woman Injured in Riverhead Assault
Police say investigation is ongoing.
Riverhead Town Police responded to a 911 call of an assault in progress at East Main Street and Howell Avenue on Wednesday at approximately 8:45 p.m.
Responding police officers said they found two victims of an assault. Latrice Carter, 24, of Riverhead and Michael Booker, 26, of East Quogue, were both reportedly injured. Booker had an apparant stab wound to his right side and Carter, who was apparently struck with a blunt object, had a head laceration, police said.
Police say the pair were assaulted by unknown persons.

Both were transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center for treatment.
