No Injuries Reported in Skydiving Accident

A skydiver and instructor were stuck in a tree, police say.

Riverhead Town police reported a happy ending after two skydivers found themselves stuck in a tree on River Road, just east of the Swan Lake Golf Club in Manorville, on Tuesday evening.

The accident occurred at the same time as a summer storm swept through the area.

According to police, the accident was reported at approximately 6:30; a skydiver and an instructor were believed to have been skydiving at the Skydive Long Island facility, located on Grumman Avenue at Calverton, police said.

The identities of the two stranded skydivers have not been released.

Manorville Fire Department arrived on the scene and cut down the two stranded skydivers, police said; no injuries were reported.

You chose to live near an active airport! Deal with it! That's like living near an Interstate and whining about the noise of the traffic.
