Police: Patchogue Woman Stole $21K from Suffolk County National Bank

The 31-year-old woman was arrested after police said she stole the money while working at the bank.

A Patchogue woman has been arrested and charged with stealing $21,000 in cash from a Suffolk County National Bank on West Second Street, Riverhead Police said Monday afternoon.

Kate Paul, 31, of Patchogue was charged with third-degree grand larceny, according to a police report. 

Paul, who worked at the bank, allegedly stole the money over an undefined period of time, according to a police report. The theft "was not discovered until recent events brought the theft to light," police said. Detectives involved in the case could not be reached to provide further details.

Paul was processed and held for arraignment at the Riverhead Town Police Department.
