Police Report: Assault, Burglary

Criminal Mischief
Andrew Olsen, 24, of Riverhead was arrested and charged with third degree criminal mischief after police said he threw a rock through the window of a vehicle that was turning around in his driveway on July 18. Olsen reportedly said he threw the rock at the car because he was frustrated with people using his drive way to make a U-turn, but didn't mean to break the woman's window. Police estimated the damage was in excess of $250. Olsen was released after processing and issued a desk appearance ticket.

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance
Nicholas Tomei, 19, of Riverhead was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance after police said they found anabolic steroids and hypodermic needles in his car. Tomei was reportedly stopped by police, who searched his car and found the drugs. Tomei was processed and arraigned.

Burglary
Police said an unknown person or persons broke into the on July 13 and stole $680 worth of cash and silver. The burglar appeared to enter through a bathroom window that was nailed shut with plywood, according to police. Once inside, the culprit turned off the circuit breakers and ransacked the store,s office. Police are investigating the burglary.
Assault
Carla Anderson, 23, of Riverhead was arrested and charged with third degree assault after police say she punched, bit, and pulled the hair of another woman on July 13. Anderson reportedly was involved in a verbal dispute and punched the victim in the face. At this time, the police said the victim punched back at Anderson, who pulled her hair and bit her left forearm. Police said the victim refused medical treatment at the time of the incident. Anderson was arrested and held for arraignment.
