Police Report: Burglary, Aggravated Harassment, Drug Charges

A list of recent crime activity as reported by the Riverhead Police Department.

Esaw Laird, 76, and Angelo Ramos, 30, both of Riverhead were arrested on Dec. 31 near Stotzky Park. According to police reports, Laird was arrested on aggravated unlicensed operation charges and Ramos on an outstanding Riverhead Justice Court warrant and unlawful possession of marijuana. Reports state that Ramos was transported to Riverhead Correction Facility and Laird was released on a future court date.

Lidia Perdomo-Garrido, 30, of Riverhead, was arrested on Jan. 3 on petit larceny charges. According to reports, an employee of Wal-Mart reported that Perdomo-Garrido removed three compact discs, valued at $23, from the store without paying or permission to do so. She was transported to police headquarters, processed and arraigned in Riverhead Justice Court.

Torrence Langhorne was arrested on Jan. 4 on outstanding drug charges. According to reports, a police officer on special assignment at a Riverhead High School basketball game observed Langhorne and had known him to be wanted by the Suffolk County Police Narcotics Unit. After calling to confirm, Langhorne was arrested, transported to Riverhead police headquarters and searched, and transported to the Suffolk County Police Department 7th Precinct.

Paul Miller, 43, of Calverton, was arrested on Jan. 4 on charges of aggravated harassment in the second degree. Reports state that Miller's girlfriend reported that Miller broke her bedroom door, forced his way into her room, pushed her against a wall, and punched her in the chest several times. She also alleged that Miller threw her cell phone to the ground, in the process destroying it. Miller was arrested, transported to headquarters for processing, and held for morning arraignment.

Austin Brengel, 18, of Wading River was arrested on Jan. 5 on second degree burglary charges. Brengel allegedly stole a Dell laptop computer valued at $700. He was processed and remanded to the Suffolk County Jail on $25,000 bail.

Willie Bryant, 29, of Riverside, was arrested on Jan. 5 on charges of obstructing governmental administration, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and appearance in public under the influence of narcotics or a drug other than alcohol. According to police reports, a caller reported that an unknown black male was riding a bicycle in the Target parking lot, looking into cars. Upon police investigation, Bryant met the description and was found in the rear of the parking lot. He was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center for evaluation.

Johnny Reyes, 19, of Mastic, was arrested on Jan. 6 on charges of criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree and identity theft in the third degree. He was processed and held for arraignment.

 

None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed above. They are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
