Police Report: DWI, Disorderly Conduct, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing

A list of recent crime activity as reported by the Riverhead Police Department.

Charles Montalbano, 36, of Coram, was arrested on Feb. 14 on charges of criminal contempt in the first degree, criminal misconduct in the fourth degree, and an outstanding Suffolk County Sheriff's Department Warrant. According to police reports, police responded to a call from a residence where a male and female were screaming in the background. The female reported getting into a dispute with Montalbano and wanting to leave, though he blocked the door. After she called 911, she reported that Montalbano grabbed the phone from her hand and when police arrived, he grabbed her by the arm to get her into the basement, because he had a warrant and didn't want to get arrested. Montalbano was arrested, transported to headquarters, processed, and held for arraignment. 

Harley Heyward, 32, of Riverhead, was arrested on harassment and resisting arrest charges on Feb. 15. Police reports state that an officer was approached by a female while on patrol, who states that she was hit by Heyward. Upon investigation it was found that Heyward allegedly punched the complainant in the face and kicked her in the stomach. When Heyward was being arrested, he reportedly resisted, causing the arresting officer to fall over a garbage can. Heyward was taken to headquarters, processed, and held for arraignment. 

Wayne Conklin, 40, of Jamesport, was arrested on Feb. 16 on disorderly conduct charges. Reports state that Conklin was approached after he allegedly spilled beer in front of Ninow's Music Store, when he was asked to refrain from doing so. Conklin reportedly then banged on the store's windows with his fists, and was later arrested after allegedly being told numerous times by police to stop. Conklin reportedly took a hostile stance toward police, shouting and yelling continuously. He was arrested and issued a desk appearance ticket.

Timmy Craig-Walcott, 26, of Riverhead, was arrested on Feb. 18 on charges of driving with a suspended license. Reports state that Craig-Walcott rear ended another car in the McDonald's parking lot, unaware that the car was waiting to pull out onto Route 58. He was transported to police headquarters, processed, and arraigned in Riverhead Town Justice Court. 

Jose Baltazar Osorio-Armina, 31, of Farmingdale, was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation, leaving the scene of an accident, and an outstanding Riverhead Town Justice Warrant on Feb. 20. Reports state that police responded to a call of leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident and subsequently found Osorio-Armina and arrested him on the stated charges. He was transported to Suffolk County Correctional Facility to be held for morning arraignment.

Melvin Tyrone Trent, 47, of Riverhead, was arrested on Feb. 23 on charges of criminal contempt in the first degree, criminal obstruction of breathing, and harassment in the second degree. Police reports state Trent's girlfriend reported that he came home intoxicated and angry toward her. She stated that he grabbed and pushed her, urinated on her, and held her down to the bed, and tried to cover her face with a pillow. Trent then allegedly left and police responded to her call. Trent was subsequently found to be in violation of a Suffolk County Family Court Order and arrested on the stated charges. He was arrested, processed at police headquarters, and held for morning arraignment. 

 

None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed above. They are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
