Police Report: DWI, Harassment, Loitering

A list of recent crime activity as reported by the Riverhead Police Department.

The following information was supplied by the Riverhead Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

John Sullivan, 66, of St. James, was arrested on March 28 on charges of driving while intoxicated. According to police reports, police responded to a report of a red sport utility vehicle traveling eastbound on Middle Country Road in an erratic manner. Police reportedly located a red Mercury Mountaineer near Fresh Pond Avenue and pulled the vehicle over. Upon interviewing the operator, Sullivan, the officer allegedly smelled alcohol and asked Sullivan to exit the vehicle. Police stated that Sullivan was unsteady on his feet, his eyes were glassy, and failed a field sobriety test. He was arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing. Police reported that due to a prior DUI conviction, his vehicle was impounded. Sullivan was processed and held for arraignment.

Shaun Pritchard, 22, of Riverhead, was arrested on April 4 and charged with two counts of harassment. According to police reports, a male from Middle Island reported that Pritchard approached him at Taco Bell and stated, "You were looking at me," and began to punch him in his face and pushed him to the ground, causing a large abrasion on his head and face and swelling to his head. Another male, also from Middle Island, also reported that he was pushed to the ground by Pritchard, causing an abrasion and minor bleeding to his knee. He also reported being kicked by Pritchard while he was on the ground. Pritchard was arrested and transported to headquarters for processing.
