Police Report: DWI, Menacing, Criminal Mischief

A list of recent crime activity as reported by the Riverhead and Southampton Police Departments.

The following information was supplied by the Riverhead and Southampton Police Departments. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Shelley Taylor, 36 of Riverhead was arrested on April 12 on DWI charges. Southampton Police said Taylor was spotted driving with out lights on Bell Avenue in Flanders.  While interviewing her, they reportedly found that she had been drinking. She was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor and insufficient lights.

Daniel Marcinkiewicz, 53, of Riverhead, was arrested on April 13 on charges of violating town code for having an open alcohol container in public on Railroad Avenue. According to police, Marcinkiewicz also had an active parole warrant for burglary in the third degree. He was processed at police headquarters and his case was transferred to parole.

Erick Nolan, 38, of Riverhead, was arrested on April 15 on charges of criminal mischief in the fourth degree. According to police reports, Nolan was witnessed damaging a second floor window at Tweed's Buffalo Bar, with an estimated damage of $200. Nolan was arrested on the premises, transported to police headquarters, processed and held for morning arraignment. 

Beatrice Thomas, 73, of Riverhead, was arrested on April 15 on second degree assault charges. According to police reports, Thomas' son, Collin Woodley reported to police that his mother "chopped him with a knife" and showed police a bleeding cut in his right forearm. When he realized his mother was going to be arrested, Woodley reportedly stopped complying with police, saying he did not wish to bring criminal charges against his mother. Thomas was arrested, processed and held for arraignment.

Collin Woodley, 53, of Riverhead, was arrested on April 15 on charges of menacing in the second degree. According to police reports, a female (not Woodley's mother, mentioned above) stated she was menaced with a large kitchen knife during a dispute with him. Woodley was arrested and transported to headquarters, where he was processed and held pending a morning arraignment. The knife was placed into police custody as evidence. 

Elefterios Mourounas, 64, of Riverhead, was arrested on April 18 on petit larceny charges. According to police reports, an employee of Home Depot reported that Moutounas removed several items - with an estimated cost of $270.74 - from the store without paying for them. Mourounas was arrested on a civilian's arrest charge, transported to police headquarters, processed, and released on $100 bail. 

Paul Calamita, 56, of Southampton, was arrested on April 19 on petit larceny charges. According to police reports, Calamita an employee of Home Depot reported that Calamita removed three spools of copper wire - valued at $301 - from the store without paying for them. Calamita was arrested on a civilian's arrest charge, transported to police headquarters, processed and arraigned.
