Police Report: DWI, Menacing, Petit Larceny

A list of recent crime activity as reported by the Riverhead Police Department.

The following information was supplied by the Riverhead Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Vincent Stovall, 53, of Riverhead, was arrested on harassment charges on March 24. According to police reports, his girlfriend filled a civilian's arrest form after he allegedly pushed her. He was processed and held. 

Jillian Marie Salzmann, 18, of Calverton, was arrested on charges of petit larceny on March 24. Police reports state that an employee of Stop and Shop reported that on nine separate occasions, Salzmann - an employee of Stop and Shop - removed a total of $78 in cash from the register without permission or authority to do so. She was arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing, and released on a desk appearance ticket.

Kelianne Carey, 23, of Coram, was charged with petit larceny on March 25. According to reports, loss prevention personnel at Stop and Shop reported that Carey - an employee of Stop and Shop - made numerous fraudulent returns on approximately 32 separate occasions, from Jan. 17 through March 17, recouping $500. The loss personnel employee stated that Carey had not returned to work possibly because she was aware that she was being investigated. Charges were filed against Carey and Riverhead Police Department is conducting an investigation.

Kehare Hawkins, 20, of Riverhead, was arrested and charged with menacing on March 29. According to police reports, Paul Brown reported that Hawkins hald a knife in a threatening manner and stated, "if you come at me I'm going to stab you and kill you." Brown reported that Hawkins had been off his medication for a few days and he was unstable, and ran off into the woods near Little Flower in Wading River. Riverhead Police responded and performed a K-9 canvass of the area. Hawkins, along with two other individuals, were reportedly spotted behind a home on East Woodland Drive, where Hawkins was arrested. He was processed and held.

Kevin Balcerak, 32, of Riverhead, was arrested on March 30 on charges of driving while intoxicated. According to police reports, Riverhead Police responded to a suspicious vehicle. Balcerak's vehicle was reportedly parked in violation on a posted sign. Following an interview by police, Balcerak was arrested, transported to police headquarters, processed, and held for arraignment.

Anthony Waage, 18, of Manorville, and two minors, also of Manorville, were arrested on March 31. According to Riverhead police, the two minors were charged with petit larceny while Waage was charged with petit larceny and unlawful possession of a noxious material. Police stated that they had received several reports of larcenies taking place in the Wading River area. On March 30, around 11:15 p.m., a report of another larceny allegedly took place. According to reports, both plainclothes and uniformed police responded, in the course arresting the three individuals. All three were transported to Riverhead Police station, where they were charged with petit larceny, and Waage with also having a can of mace. They were held for arraignment. Police also obtained a search warrant for one of the individual's homes, in the process reportedly recovering several items previously reported stolen. Police said they expect additional charges to follow.
