Police Report: False Personation, Petit Larceny

A list of recent crime activity as reported by the Riverhead Police Department.

Santos Chavez-Vasquez, 23, of Westhampton, was arrested on Sept. 26 on charges of exposure of a person. According to reports, Chavez-Vasquez was seen exposing his penis and urinating while standing outside of Casa Rica. He was processed and held for arraignment.

William Belcher, 44, of Riverhead, was arrested on Sept. 27 on false personation charges. Reportedly, Belcher was observed lingering inside a fenced yard for unknown reasons during early morning hours. Upon investigation, police said Belcher could not explain why he was standing in the yard. He allegedly then said his name was John Booker and John Belcher after being warned of the consequences. Reports state that the responding officer knocked on the door of the residence, at which point Belcher fled the area. He was reportedly found a short time later and arrested.

Joanne Daugherty, 41, of Riverhead, was arrested on Sept. 28 on petit larceny charges. Reports state that Daugherty removed assorted clothing, lotions and cosmetics valued at $60.10 from Wal-Mart without authorization or permission. She was arrested and processed.

Brian Jenkins, 43, of Bridgehampton, was arrested on Sept. 29 for a Southampton Justice Court warrant and on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree. He was released on a desk appearance ticket to the Southampton Police Department.

Tamar Chincharashvili, 48, of Riverhead, was arrested on petit larceny charges on the evening of Sept. 29. According to reports, Chincharashvili removed a bottle of Roberto Cavalli cologne valued at $71 without authorization or permission. She was transported to headquarters, processed, and released on bail.

Richard Ambrose, 33, of Riverhead, was arrested for an outstanding New York State Parole warrant and charges of false personation, aggravated unlicensed in the second degree, and unlicensed operator. Ambrose was reportedly observed in the Taco Bell parking lot and was known to the reporting officer to have an outstanding parole warrant. According to reports, Ambrose was interviewed and upon being advised that knowingly providing an incorrect name, date of birth, or address is a crime, stated that his name was Michael Ambrose. Upon further investigation it was found that his name was Richard Ambrose. He was then processed and held for arraignment.

Jermaine Boooker, 38, of Selden, was arrested on Oct. 1 for an outstanding warrant. According to reports, police responded to a domestic incident and Booker's mother, Diane Brown, said that Booker had been verbally abusive and wanted him to leave her residence. Upon investigation, police found Booker had an outstanding warrant with the Riverhead Justice Court and arrested him.

 

None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed above. They are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
