Police Report: Student Arrested on Drug Charges at High School

Brett Chizever, 24, of Aquebogue, was arrested March 1 at Southampton Police headquarters in Hampton Bays at 1 p.m. The arrest followed a report of silver flatware that was unlawfully taken from a Westhampton home on Baycrest Avenue Feb 28. The value of the silverware is estimated to be $18,000. Chizever was charged by police with third degree grand larceny, a felony.

Mark Auerbeck, 32, of Riverhead, was arrested on March 2 after his father said he stole a gun from his safe at his home on Center Drive in Baiting Hollow. The father said he believed his son sold the gun - valued at $300 - and sold it. Reports indicate that the father had an order of protection out against his son, which was reportedly violated. Auerbeck was charged with grand larceny, criminal contempt in the second degree, and according to court reports, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree. He awaits a March 20 court date.

Riverhead Police arrested a high school student on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree. According to reports, a Riverhead High School assistant principal said that Joseph Muncey Jr., 18, of Riverhead, was in possession of crack cocaine on the afternoon of March 2. Reports state that police confiscated an off-white, hard, rock-like substance. Muncey was processed and released on a desk appearance ticket.

A minor from Brentwood and Luis Andrea Segovia, 18, of Bay Shore, were both arrested on petit larceny charges after an incident at Saks Fifth Avenue Off Fifth on March 5. According to police reports, Segovia stole a wool hat from the store, valued at $20. The minor, according to police, stole an $80 pair of sunglasses. Both were transported to police headquarters, processed and held for arraignment.
