Police Report: Third Degree Rape, Burglar's Tools, Harassment

A list of recent crime activity as reported by the Riverhead Police Department.

The following information was supplied by the Riverhead and Southold Police Departments. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Peter Hicks, 43, of Riverhead, was arrested on May 7 on charges of harassment in the second degree. According to police reports, an individual reported that a white male wearing a black jacket and doo-rag attempted to have a conversation with her four-year old son, and having a verbal argument with him over it. Police spoke with Hicks, who allegedly stated he was walking home and tried to say hello to the boy. Police said they adviced Hicks to stay away from the area for the remainder of the evening. Police were reportedly called back to the area 20 minutes later. According to police, the boy's mother said Hicks verbally threatened her. Hicks was transported to police headquarters, processed, and held for morning arraignment.

Shoyn Johnson, 22, of Brooklyn, was arrested on May 8 on charges of petit larceny and criminal possession of burglar's tools. According to police reports, an employee of Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th states that Johnson cut security tags on two pairs of sunglasses valued at $279, and one pair of jeans valued at $282. Upon police arrival, Johnson reportedly had a pair of sunglasses in each of his front pockets and was wearing a second pair of jeans underneath his jeans. Police also said they located a pair of wire cutters in his back right pocket. Johnson was transported to headquarters for processing and released on $500 bail and a desk appearance ticket.

Jeffrey Ireland, 50, of Aquebogue was charged with third-degree rape, first-degree criminal contempt and second-degree criminal trespass on Friday May 13 at 5:09 p.m. after Southold Town Police completed an investigation of a domestic incident, police said. Ireland was processed and held at Southold Town Police headquarters and was then transferred to the Suffolk County Correctional facility on $25,000 bail.

Jordan Lang, 28, of Jamesport was arrested on Sunday May 15 at 12:37 a.m. for having several warrants out from the Suffolk County First District Court after police stopped her for riding a bicycle with no lights on Route 25 in Cutchogue, police said.
