Police: Riverhead Man Arrested on Felony Assault Charges Following Hampton Bays Bar Fight

Bryan Martinez, 22, arrested after allegedly breaking a drinking glass over another man's head.

A Riverhead man turned himself into police on Monday after allegedly striking another man in the head with a drinking glass, causing several lacerations, at a Hampton Bays bar. 

According to Southampton Police, Bryan Martinez, 22, was involved in a fight at Rumba's Bar on Canoe Place Road in Hampton Bays on Saturday night, where the incident reportedly took place. 

Police said that after Martinez hit another man over the head with the drinking glass he fled before police arrived. They said that after a police investigation, Martinez' identity was attained.

He turned himself into police on Monday and was processed and arraigned. He was charged with assault in the second degree, a felony, and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, a misdemeanor.
