Police: Riverhead Man Charged With Felony DWI
The driver was stopped for speeding, police said.
A Riverhead man was slapped with a felony driving while intoxicated charge on Sunday.
According to New York State Police, Damon Sawyer, 47, was stopped for speeding on County Road 51 in Riverside at 6:30 p.m.
Police said Sawyer was found to be intoxicated and was arrested charged with DWI, a felony.
Sawyer was held pending a Monday arraignment at Southampton Town Justice Court.
