Police Searching For Strong Arm Robbery Suspect

Southampton Town police are asking for the public's help.

Southampton Town police are investigating an alleged strong-arm robbery that occurred on Aug.15 in front of the USA Deli on Flanders Road in Flanders.

According to police, a suspect, shown in the upper left corner of the video surveillance tape picture, "forcibly stole" a victim's wallet containing $365 in cash in front of the deli.

The suspect is described as being a light-skinned black male, in his 30s, approximately six feet tall and heavy set, wearing a multi-colored patterned hooded coat, with the hood cinched tight around the face and a brimmed cap underneath.

Police say the suspect fled south on Flanders Road.

Anyone with information is asked to call an anonymous tip hot line at 631-728-3451 or email crimetips@southamptontownny.gov.
