Police: Woman Swiped Debit Card From C. Wonder at Tanger
The woman used the card at a Medford gas station, police said.
The public is asked to help track down three suspects police said were involved in stealing a debit card and other belongings from the C. Wonder store in Riverhead.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Riverhead Police are trying to identify and locate a woman who allegedly used a credit card stolen from the store.
Police said on October 7, at approximately 5 p.m., three suspects, two men and a woman, entered the C. Wonder store, located at 1770 West Main Street. While two of the suspects distracted a female employee, one of the men entered an employee-only room and stole a pocketbook containing an iPhone, debit card and personal papers, police said.
The victim’s debit card was used to purchase $75 worth of merchandise at a Medford gas station, police added.
The first suspect is described as a black female, between 25 and 32 years old, approximately 5'5" inches tall. She was wearing a blue and white bandana and blue jeans, police said. The suspect who took the pocketbook is described as a black male who was wearing a bright green shirt with a number three on the front. The third suspect is described as a tall black male who was wearing a red shirt.
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
