Retrial of 1996 Stabbing Case Begins

After an original case was thrown out after conviction, Kilila Taylor is being tried again in the stabbing case of Curtisha Morning.

Sixteen years after Curtisha Morning was killed, found stabbed over 90 times, a second trial for her alleged killer began Monday, according to CBS New York.

Kalila Taylor stands charged with the killing of Morning, a homecoming queen who was reportedly killed in a jealous rage over a boy. Originally convicted in 1999 of second-degree murder, Taylor's case was later thrown out after a judge gave the jury incorrect instructions during the initial trial.

According to CBS New York, the trial is expected to take up to three weeks.
