Riverhead Brothers Arraigned on Drug Sale Charges

According to District Attorney Thomas Spota, Robert Trent sold at least four ounces of a mixture or compound of cocaine, and his brother Curtis sold at least two ounces.

Two Riverhead brothers have been indicted in front of a Suffolk County grand jury and stand charged with multiple felony counts for allegedly selling and possessing drugs.

Robert and Curtis Trent Jr. were arraigned on Thursday at Suffolk County Criminal Court, and according to the office of District Attorney Thomas Spota, the brothers were caught in May of last year selling "one and more preparations, compounds, mixtures and substances containing cocaine" in a quantity over ounces.

Both are charged with the following: criminal sale of a controlled substance in the first degree (class A I felony), criminal sale of a controlled substance in the second degree (class A II felony), and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree (class B felony).

In addition, the D.A.'s office alleges that Robert Trent was caught in one other instance by himself, on June 22, 2011, leading to four more of the exact same charges.

Robert Trent was on March 12, according to Riverhead Police records. Riverhead Justice Court records show he also has outstanding charges of menacing in the second degree and harassment in the second degree. Court records show Curtis Trent was arrested on March 9.

Suffolk County Judge Gary Weber set bail for Robert Trent at $37,500 cash and $70,000 bond. Bail for Curtis Trent was set at $25,000 cash and $50,000 bond.

Both were remanded to Suffolk County Jail. Their next court dates are on May 7.
