Two stabbings were reported within days of each other in the Riverhead area.
Riverhead police said a 25-year-old Riverhead man was stabbed in both legs occurred on East Main Street, on a lawn across from Town Hall, on Tuesday at about 12:45 a.m. No suspect has been apprehended.
However, the victim ended up in handcuffs. Police said Rodney Brooks had an outstanding warrant out for his arrest, so he was taken into custody when he was released from Peconic Bay Medical Center.
Meanwhile, detectives are investigating the stabbing, police said.
On Thursday, a stabbing victim showed up at home on Shade Tree Lane in Aquebogue at about 12:15 a.m., begging for help, according to The Riverhead News-Review.
According to police, 42-year-old Albert Zachary, of Riverhead, was stabbed in the shoulder, and transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center. William Partell, 49, of Riverhead, was arrested and charged with assault.
Detectives are also investigating that case.
