Riverhead Man Charged With DWI; He Passed Out Behind the Wheel, Cops Say

Police say he was parked on the side of the road in Cutchogue.

A Riverhead man parked on the side of the road in Cutchogue was charged with driving while intoxicated on Thursday after police say he was found passed out behind the wheel.

Southold Town police arrested Hector Garcia, 24, of Riverhead, and charged him with driving while intoxicated on Thursday at 12:54 a.m. after observing him parked on the side of the road on Route 25 in Cutchogue, passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle, police said.

He was allegedly found to be intoxicated, and was arrested and transported to police headquarters in Peconic where he was processed and held overnight pending arraignment.
