Riverside Woman Told Police Her Child Was Sexually Abused

Also recently reported to the Southampton Town Police Department, car theft and vandalism.

Crimes and suspicious incidents reported to the Southampton Town Police Department:

Sexual Abuse

• A woman in Riverside told police Nov. 3 that her child was sexually abused on Oct. 27. Detectives interviewed the child according to the report and an investigation is continuing into the incident. No arrests related to the complaint have yet been reported.

Grand Larceny

• In Riverside on Oct. 30, a wallet was reported stolen out of a Ford Ranger pickup that was parked at the complainant's driveway on Old Quogue Road. Missing is $1,200 in cash and $650 in checks. 

• On Oct. 30, a Riverhead man reported that his vehicle was taken from a location on County Road 104 in Riverside. The complainant said the vehicle was locked and the keys were inside.

Petty Larceny

• A white iPhone 5 was taken from the front seat of a Toyota Camry on Suffolk Avenue in Flanders Oct. 30. The owner of the car is a man from Queens.

Criminal Mischief

• On Oct. 30, a Riverside man told police that someone cut open the convertible top of his vehicle that was parked on Phillips Avenue. The complainant told cops that he wished to document the incident for insurance purposes.
