Search Warrant Results in Flanders Heroin Bust

Heroin, prescription pills found.

A prolonged investigation by the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office East End Drug Task Force led to a heroin bust on Friday at a Flanders home.

Southampton Town police report that during the Friday early morning hours, the emergency services unit and patrol officers executed a search warrant at 736 Flanders Road in Flanders.

Police detained three individuals and recovered a quantity of heroin they said was packaged for sale, as well as prescription pills allegedly possessed with the intent to sell, and United States currency allegedly used in the narcotics sales.

Police arrested John Henry Ward, 51, and charged him with criminal possession of a controlled subtance in the third degree, a class "B" felony, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class "A" misdemeanor.

Ward, who police say is a prior felony offender and is currently on parole for narcotics sale, was processed at Southampton Town police headquarters and arraigned at Southampton Town justice court. The remaining two individuals were released without charges.
