Six Busted After Drug Task Force Investigation

Cocaine and prescription medications were seized.

Over the past week, Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota announced that six local residents -- including a Southampton Town noise control officer -- were arrested after an ongoing investigation by the East End Drug Task Force.

“A quantity of cocaine and prescription medication was seized during this ten-month investigation by East End Drug Task Force personnel,” Spota said. “The investigation is ongoing.”  

On April 18, police arrested Southampton Town Police noise control officer Alfred M. Tumbarello, 38, of Speonk, and charged him with three counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree and conspirancy in the fourth degree.

The next day, on April 19, Erick L. Castor, 27, of Westhampton Beach was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the second degree and three counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree. The same day, Quogue resident Frederick Wilkinson, 69, was arrested for criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree. The defendant allegedly was in possession of less than a gram of cocaine when he was arrested. Wilkinson was given a field appearance ticket.

On April 20, William Turner, 35, of Calverton, was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the second degree and two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree. Also arrested on April 20 was Shana Gilmore, 32, of Calverton, who was charged with conspiracy in the fourth degree. After executing a search warrant, the East End Drug Task Force along with Suffolk County Police Department Emergency Services and the SCPD K9 unit swept the Turner and Gilmore residence and seized cash, a Mossberg short barrelled shotgun and an AK47 assault rifle.

Also arrested on April 20  was Manorville Hanley, 28, of Manorville, who was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree and four counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the the seventh degree. After executing a search warrant, the EEDTF, SCPD emergency services and the SCPD K9 unit found 41 oxycodone pills, 3 oxycontin pills and a small quantity of cocaine and marijuana at Hanley's residence.

Each of the defendants pled not guilty.
