Southampton Police Charge Three in Riverside Gas Station Burglary

Shamrock gas station burglarized early Thursday morning.

Two Riverhead men and a Calverton man were arrested on Thursday and charged with burglarizing a Riverside gas station.

Southampton Police announced on Thursday that Steven Willlis, 20, of Calverton and Jimmy Bridgewater, 20, both of Riverhead, were arrested after police responded to reports of a burglary at Shamrock Gas Station on Route 24 around 1:15 a.m. Police said that shortly after their investigation, they pulled over a car containing the three men and found burglar's tools as well as proceeds from the crime, including cigarettes, cigars, cash, and groceries.

The three were charged with third degree burglary, a class D felony; third degree criminal mischief, a class E felony; conspiracy in the fifth degre, a misdemeanor; and possession of burglars' tools, a misdemeanor.

Police additionally charged Bridgewater with criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Bridgewater was remanded to the Suffolk County Jail on $60,000 bail, while Willis was remanded on $50,000 bail.
